Principal Biostatistician


Job Background

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Biostatistician to join our team within Biostatistics! The Principal Biostatistician wil plan, analyze and summarize the results of clinical studies. The Principal Biostatistican will also program and/or review statistical tables, listings, figures, and analysis datasets for clinical trials in accordance with Chiltern and/or sponsor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or study specific guidelines.

This position can be remotely located anywhere in the United States.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

1. Apply knowledge of basic and complex statistical design, analysis, and programming techniques
2. Efficiently and effectively coordinate statistical activities for multiple projects simultaneously
3. Serve as primary statistical representative for biometrics standalone projects or otherwise complex studies
4. Participate in bids & proposal as well as marketing activities for Chiltern
5. Effectively manage broad based projects such as NDA submissions or complex, multi-protocol programs, potentially coordinating activities across multiple locations
6. Develop and execute study designs and regulatory strategy as related to drug development
7. Maintain awareness of project budgets and tasks, and effectively communicate the status of such tasks to line management and the project manager, as appropriate
8. Provide guidance and work direction to Level 1 – 3 Biostatisticians; Actively monitor project budgets and help staff identify resource or scope of work changes
9. Interact with project team and line manager to identify project priorities and communicate such activities and associated timelines to departmental management
10. Perform other duties as required by the Department


1. Master’s degree, equivalent, or higher in Biostatistics or related field
2. Minimum 10 + years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education or experience to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job
3. Experience with SAS statistical software
4. Experience with regulatory submissions and support preferred
5. Previous experience in a senior-level Biostatistician role
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information during interactions with staff at all levels
7. Extensive experience in leading statistical activities in clinical research
8. Previous experience within a pharmaceutical research or CRO organization
9. Ability to program in one or more statistical software packages used to conduct statistical analyses
10.Proven ability to effectively communicate statistical concepts
