Job Summary:

The role of the Administration Assistant is primarily concerned with providing administrative support as required to the GMP Equipment & Metrology group.


Job Summary:

The individual has a responsibility to work with BioPharmCMC sections and BioPharmCMC management etc where appropriate to conduct all work in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and specifically those regulations (GLP and or GCP / and or GMP) specified in the study plans, protocols, or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved.

Reports to Choose from list on a daily basis (a permanent change of supervisor will be documented in training records) and to the relevant QC SCi on a study specific basis.

The post holder will ensure adherence to the BioPharmCMC SOPs and will be responsible for completion of all relevant documentation.


Essential Job Duties:

  • General and Specific Administrative Skills and Techniques:
  • Support the day to day operation of the TMS database e.g. set up of new equipment, update of information regarding repair and servicing and preparation of job sheets etc.
  • Update, filing and maintenance of metrology records with information on equipment servicing, repair etc.
  • Produce metrology labels for equipment in a timely manner.
  • To support the archiving of metrology data in a timely manner.
  • Checking of equipment documentation against GMP requirements.
  • Ordering of equipment and consumables.
  • Responsible for handling deliveries (including stores items and internal and external mail), ensuring they are distributed accordingly.
  • Print and distribute TMS CM work orders to relevant team members.
  • General office administrative duties such as filing, general photocopying etc.


Education / Qualifications:

  • The post holder should ideally be educated to A-Level (or similar educational standard), or possess an appropriate amount of  experience.



  • Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project).
  • An understanding of health and safety policies, Company policies and procedures, and an understanding of working within a regulatory environment.
  • The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels, with other Covance employees, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc.
