Job purpose:

This team is the Think Tank dedicated to strategically moving our business and the NHS to-wards paying for outcomes. The role will focus on the implementation of New Commercial Models including Outcome Based Commercial Models across the UK which improve and reward patient outcomes. In collaboration with the Market Access Strategy Manager and cross functional Business Franchise team, the Project Manager will align the functional and franchise expertise across the CPO, RE & Global as required in order to ensure internal and external requirements for New Commercial Models are realised. The Project Manager is ideally placed to replicate models across geographies and Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and facilitate the sharing of best practice across BFs. This role has responsibility for in line brands as well as considerations for pre launch to enable appropriate patient access and improved patient outcomes for our priority pipeline molecules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop UK concepts for new commercial models (including outcomes based models) in order to drive commercial opportunities and “beyond the pill” proposals
• To act as the centre of excellence for outcomes based models and support capability building across the UK affiliate, working in partnership with Global Healthcare Systems and with external vendors/providers (as appropriate)
• Working with internal stakeholders (Business Leaders (BLs)/Patient Access Managers (PAMs)), describe the business opportunity & project proposal, including situation analysis, desired outcomes, potential value etc
• Agree alignment and prioritisation of project with brand Market Access Strategy Man-ager
• Prepare Business Case for Novartis and NHS: ensure internal cross functional alignment
• Establish success criteria, develop revenue & spend models (including NPV), identify internal and external stakeholders, assess risk and plan mitigation
• Collate the supporting evidence for the proposal in line with FLT/PEC require-ments for agreement with input from functional and franchise experts
• Ensure appropriate RE/Global approvals are in place
• Determine key metrics for the implementation of each New Commercial Models/Outcome Based Commercial Models
• The Project Manager, supported by the BL, PAM and Hospital Commercial Account Manager (HCAM) in the field, will ensure implementation of New Commercial Models/Outcome Based Commercial Models which will include co-creation of the proposal with a variety of external stakeholders (clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, patient groups and others)
• The Project Manager will lead the expansion and implementation of successful New Commercial Models/Outcome Based Commercial Models contracts elsewhere in the UK, educating the broader organisation as required
• The Project Manager will work on multiple New Commercial Models (incuding OBCMs) at any one point. The number of New Commercial Models/Outcome Based Commercial Models will vary depending on their complexity and how nov-el/established the model might be
• The Project Manager will ensure a smooth handover to Commercial Opera-tions/BLs/PAMs/HCAMs (as appropriate) with the following in mind:
• Key messages & tools for customer facing teams to pull through
• Ongoing customer engagement and follow up
• Audit capability for any outcome measures and associated payment runs
• Internal engagement/communications/alignment
• Project evaluation (continue/exit/refine)
• The Project Manager will be accountable for ensuring that all project management re-quirements for each New Commercial Models/Outcome Based Commercial Models are documented and tracked in a timely manner
