·         To work closely with DMPK scientists to develop mechanistic PKPD models sufficient to support hypothesis generation, testing, and decision-making.

·         Collaborate with relevant colleagues to develop PKPD and biomarker strategies for early projects, and for quantitative translation to the clinic

·         Provide incisive input in the biomarker identification/ validation effort at the level of the department.

·         Provide scientific and technical leadership to DMPK Strategy Group, project teams, and Non-Clinical Development (NCD)

·         Initiate and monitor appropriate collaborations with external partners, academic institutions, CROs and consultants.

·         Maintain an awareness of new / emerging techniques and tools relevant to the field.

·         Represent the interests of NCD internally and externally in matters relevant to mechanistic PKPD and contribute to enhancing the scientific reputation of DMPK Strategy and the company.


Candidate Experience:

·         PhD in relevant discipline (pharmacology, engineering, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, etc.)

·         At least 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, biotech or CRO; with substantial time supporting mechanistic PKPD modeling

·         Excellent understanding of pharmacology and pharmacologic processes related to disease and drug mechanisms

·         Strong record of project support and the use of mechanistic modeling to support drug development

·         Extensive experience with, and application of, relevant modeling software (Matlab, Adapt, SAAM, WNL, NONMEM, etc.)

·         Experience in supporting quantitative translation of non-clinical to clinical pharmacology, enabling predictions and decisions

·         Aptitude to organize data and work with precision and accuracy.

·         Innovative, self-motivated, team-oriented scientist with good written and verbal communication skills, able to handle several projects at any given time, to work successfully in teams and to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences.

·         Experience working within a matrix environment with a wide range of internal stakeholders including Non-Clinical Safety, Bioanalysis, Pharmacology, Global Exploratory Development, and Quality Assurance.

·         Record of publications and other external scientific contributions relevant to mechanistic PKPD
