POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for identifying new opportunities (prospecting) and establishing relationships to gain new business revenue for UBC Patient Access Services lines of business – Reimbursement (HUB and Field Based), Nursing Contact Center (Education and Adherence), Field Nurse Educators, and In-home HHA services), Patient Assistance (PAP), eService Technology Solutions (UBC Pathways) and REMS for assigned accounts.  Position requires the ability to handle multiple deliverables at various stages of the selling process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Attend trade shows on behalf of UBC in key business areas of focus; support UBC in the identification of future avenues for UBC visibility (and rationale for these suggestions)
  • Overall responsibility of new and existing client opportunities
  • Maintain and further expanding the business pipeline to achieve growth objectives
  • Manage expectations of client request and UBC deliverables.
  • Offer strategic insight and corresponding rationale for new business opportunities
  • Create tactical plans for key customer(s) that represent strong opportunity to attain annual territory sales target (key customer expansion planning)
  • Submit new business opportunities through pre-defined business development and proposal process; manage distribution of key RFP materials to all relevant stakeholders
  • Engage and support the Bid Defense development process. Bring the proposal to a more formal setting in a slide deck that will be delivered by key service area leads to secure the work with the customer
  • Ability to deliver high quality business capabilities presentations
  • Work with the UBC Sales Management regarding corporate strategic planning and brand/product development and commercial plans
  • Monitor market development/trends to support territory strategy; This includes competitive intelligence
  • Suggest, recommend and implement measures to enhance the business development & acquisition process as a whole
  • Travel: 60 to 75%
  • Other duties as required by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive understanding of commercial operations within the pharmaceutical industry, including but not limited to sales, marketing, and channel areas including managed care, trade development, reimbursement, nursing and pharmacy solutions
  • Excellent working knowledge of specialty pharmacy/distribution/integrated reimbursement ‘HUB’ environment; 10+ years’ related services experience.   Including aggregate pharmaceutical experience with specialty, hospital based and retail products.
  • Product Knowledge: strong grasp of services line product knowledge and operational structure of specialty services - Reimbursement, PAP and/or Nursing, Launch experience, and stakeholder contract negotiations. 
  • Communication: Ability to articulate client needs and effectively collaborate with internal UBC teams, including but not limited to: executive leadership, operations, implementation, proposals, and other stakeholders as necessary for a strong RFP deliverable.  Includes exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills for internal and external audiences.
  • Team Player: ability to influence internal and external stakeholders for mutual success in order to achieve win/win objectives with limited supervision. 
  • Time Management: proven ability to manage projects against deadlines.
  • Business Acumen: Experience developing relationships and industry networking with an ability to navigate complex organizations and successfully operate within an ambiguous environment
  • Problem Solving Skills - Ability to use proper judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • University degree in a related field, MBA or other business/management training and 10 years commercial experience, including sales experience in pharmaceutical industry
