Job Summary:

Covance is seeking experienced Senior Statistical Programmers to work within our Global Functional Service Provider Team (FSPx). You will work as a Senior Statistical Programmer leading studies, 100% dedicated to one Sponsor therefore becoming an integral part of the Sponsors’ team. The FSPx department is a well-established global team within Covance, employees are based across APAC, Europe and North America.

  • You must have previous experience of working as a Statistical Programmer in a Biotechnology, CRO or Pharmaceutical company working to CDISC standards
  • Office based in any of our European offices or home based anywhere in Europe
  • Full-time role but 0.8 FTE considered

Covance is seeking experienced Senior Statistical Programmers to work within our world renowned Global Functional Service Provider Team which is known as FSPx.  You will work as a Lead Statistical Programmer on one or more studies, in Phases I-IV across several therapy areas for one Sponsor, a global top 20 pharmaceutical client.  The FSPx department is a well-established global team within Covance, employees are based across APAC, Europe and North America.  This is a full-time, permanent role although 0.8 FTE will be considered.  You can work office based from any of our EMEA offices or you can work home based anywhere from EMEA (as long as we have an office or legal entity in that country).  This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Covance as we continue to grow and expand.

 

Job Primary Functions

  • Perform data manipulation techniques and advanced techniques (arrays, transpositions, complex merges, SQL, etc.) and generic macro use and development to enable listing, table and graph generation
  • Analyze information and develop innovative solutions to programming and data analysis challenges
  • Successfully coordinate multiple priorities
  • Complete assigned tasks within known budget constraints
  • Serve as the statistical programming lead on internal project teams and coordinate programming, verification, and documentation of statistical programs for use in creating analysis datasets, tables, listings, and figures
  • Assist internal project team in identifying project priorities and communicating such activities and associated timelines to departmental management
  • Ensure the efficiency, quality, and integrity of data reporting and project activities executed
  • Represent the department in client meetings/presentation and maintain a positive working relationship with sponsors, collaborating associate and vendor personnel
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of programming processes and methodology

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in Biostatistics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum 5 + years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education or experience to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical research or CRO setting required
  • Knowledge of one or more statistical software packages (SAS® preferred) used to conduct statistical analyses
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of CDSIC
