Job purpose:

The Statistical Scientist is responsible for all statistical tasks on the assigned clinical studies: clinical study design/planning, analysis plan, reporting activities including exploratory analyses, and additional analysis to support publications. Responsible for the discussion and implementation of modern and innovative trial designs, statistical models, epidemiology and analytic methodologies that optimally address the research objectives of the clinical trial(s).

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide statistical scientific input for assigned clinical trials, comprising all relevant technical and disease area knowledge
• Responsible for all statistical tasks on the assigned clinical trials: clinical trial design/planning, analysis plan, reporting activities including exploratory analyses, and additional analysis to support publications.
• Represents GBS- CDS at trial level internal/external meetings for strategic statistical scientific inputs. Participate in or lead non-clinical project activities as needed.
• Integrates Statistical Methodology where necessary, make sure that the CDS team: data management, database programming, statistical programming, medical and scientific writing are aligned.
• Track clinical trial/allocated project activities and milestones.
• Develop and maintain logs activity (RAP, CRF, secondary analysis)for MA studies in appropriate repository
• Follow processes and adhere to Novartis and project specific standards as well as Health Authority requirements (SOPs, GCP, and regulatory guidelines).
• Establish and maintain sound working relationships and effective communication within the Clinical Trial Team and CDS Biostatistics team.

About the Novartis Global Service Centre in Dublin:

The Novartis Global Service Center (NGSC), Dublin, was set up in 2013 and is located in a state-of-the-art facility on the Merrion Road in Ballsbridge. The center, one of five around the world, delivers a broad variety of services to the Novartis divisions and organizations worldwide. Minimum requirements

Requirements:

•MSc in Statistics (or equivalent degree/knowledge) Fluent English (oral and written)
•1+ years industry experience
•Experience in influencing and negotiating clinical trial designs with global leadership
•Good disease area and guidelines knowledge.
•Experience in clinical trial reporting and in Biometrician role.
•Strong working knowledge / experience with SAS/ R/ S plus or any other business or research analytic software.
•Understanding of multivariable models (cox, poisson, binomial and multinomial logistic, ANOVA and MANOVA( and multivariate approach. (cluster discriminant, factor analysis)
•Experience in meta-analysis techniques. Data mining, data meaning/interpretation.
•Good interpersonal and communication skills bridging scientific and business needs
•Good scientific leadership skills demonstrated in facilitating and optimizing trial designs and analysis strategies.
•Exposure to use of modern trial design/analysis methodologies
•Strong customer orientation and diplomatic skills. Proactive and entrepreneurial approach to develop partnerships
