** Consulting / Project Management / Pharmaceutical / strategic assistant **

Job purpose:

The purpose of the Strategic Assistant is to lead the UK Country Pharma Organisation’s Project Management Office as well as lead the planning, management and delivery of important projects. The role supports the Managing Director (UK and Ireland) in achieving objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

•Lead the Project Management Office for the UK Pharmaceutical organisation, ensuring oversight and programme management of all strategic projects
•Embed project management methodology and tools to help upskill the business
•Ensure proactive planning and management of projects to ensure adequate governance and mitigate change management impacts
•Ensure effective change management for all projects
•Lead cross-franchise, cross-functional and cross-geographical projects ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder groups
•Projects might include review and pilots of new business models or setting up new business services
•Lead local implementation of global projects (e.g., Step-Change)
•Provide support and coaching to leaders of other strategic projects
•Handle daily tasks for the Managing Director and Country President upon request (e.g. briefings)
•Facilitate execution through professional communication and collaboration
•Prepare and/or provide guidance on presentations and reports on behalf of the Managing Director
•Support the Managing Director in meetings with customers as appropriate
•Support UK business reviews and strategic planning
•Support franchise and other teams in preparing materials for business reviews and strategic plans
•Attend business reviews and follow-up on agreed actions to ensure delivery
•Manage preparation of agenda and pre-reads to ensure topics align with agreed governance and priorities

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Science-based degree MBA (desirable)
• Top tier consulting background within the pharmaceutical sector
• Commercial/operational experience
Experience in Pharmaceutical sales and marketing
• Experience in strategic planning and business development
• Cross-functional project leadership
• Synthesising complex information
• Business and financial acumen; business judgement
• Deal making and negotiation skills e.g., win/win, judgement, respecting confidentiality, etc
• Communication skills: executive summaries, ability to work with other companies, precision listening skills
