Our mission is to support the innovation and development of better therapies in healthcare.   Position Overview

The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner is responsible for partnering with EU leaders and employees in generalist HR capacity with a focus on performance management, employee development, engagement and succession planning. S/he provides coaching and counseling to employees and managers to build, sustain and/or improve working relationships and/or the work environment. Additionally, s/he contributes to policy administration, compliance efforts, and works collaboratively with other specialized HR functions to provide a comprehensive HR service experience. Supports and drives the on-going development of the Human Resources function and contributes to the business plan at both the tactical and strategic levels.

  Specific tasks would include:
  • Provides strategic and tactical employee relations counsel / support and facilitation of sensitive employee relation matters, to include conducting investigations and resolving complaints and grievances, developing Performance Improvement Plans,  and facilitating disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
  • Proactively assesses and responds to HR matters such as compensation, performance, organizational design, retention and other related issues.
  • Ensures legal compliance to all internal and external reporting entities.
  • Conducts training and communications on HR strategy, policy, and processes as necessary. 
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations, as it pertains to relevant labor laws, in order to maintain compliant HR policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Facilitates the development of new or revised job descriptions; considers internal leveling and compensation requirements as well as legal requirements, where applicable.
  • Faciliates the development and revision of corporate policies and procedures, consistent with business necessity and/or compliance with relevant labor law; ensures the readiness of an up-to-date Employee Handbook.
  • In partnership with US counterpart(s), leads the excution of the Company’s performance review process.
  • Leads the facilitation of legal matters pertaining to the employment of nonimmigrant workers; the attainment of nonimmigrant work visas and employment-based immigration processes.
  • Conducts exit interviews and reports to management turnover trends and organizational issues.
  • Collaborates on special projects within Human Resources.
  Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and 7+ years progressive Human Resources experience. Professional level experience includes the demonstrated ability to resolve moderate to complex employee relations issues and effective application of labor law.
  • Substantial understanding and application of labor laws and the Human Resources body of knowledge.  
    • Experience with labor laws in the following countries desired: Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, France, Poland. 
  • 1-2 years experience coaching, mentoring and / or managing other HR staff
  • Experience in change management and process improvement with a proven ability to analyze business needs
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook as required.
  • Effective verbal and writing skills; English + local language, if relevant.
