Job Summary:

Covance is seeking an experienced Biostatistician to work within our Global Functional Service Provider Team (FSPx) as an Associate Director Biostatistics (oncology). In this role you will be 100% dedicated to one Sponsor (a top 20 pharma) therefore becoming an integral part of the Sponsors’ team. The FSPx department is a well-established global team within Covance, employees are based across APAC, Europe and North America.

Requirements:

Job Background

  • Associate Director Biostatistics (oncology) required to work for Covance
  • You must be an experienced Biostatistician with your experience gained working in a Biotechnology, CRO or Pharmaceutical company
  • You MUST have a detailed understanding of study design for early phase oncology platform trials
  • Office based in any of our European offices or home based anywhere in Europe
  • You must be fluent in English language (both verbal and written)
  • Ideally full-time but 0.8 FTE considered

Covance is seeking an experienced Biostatistician to work within our Global Functional Service Provider Team (FSPx) as an Associate Director Biostatistics (oncology).  In this role you will be 100% dedicated to one Sponsor (a top 20 pharma) therefore becoming an integral part of the Sponsors’ team.  The FSPx department is a well-established global team within Covance, employees are based across APAC, Europe and North America.  This is a full-time, permanent role, you can work office based from any of our European offices or you can work home based anywhere from Europe.  This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Covance as we continue to grow and expand.

 

Job Primary Functions

  • Proactively maintain expertise in oncology, ensuring that s/he is recognized as a thought leader within and outside of the company
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and strategies which support the company’s market growth in oncology
  • Provide clinical and data analytics insights, collaborating across functions to ensure the highest level of subject matter knowledge for employees who maximize patient outcomes
  • Proactively partner with senior leaders, both within and outside of the department, to recommend data analytics methods that: a) provide leaders with timely and relevant insights b) enable strategic decision-making c) enhance the statistical function’s ability to provide meaningful information to the company
  • Partner with Business Development to identify and maximize opportunities to secure repeat business, remove or mitigate risks, blockages, and issues in existing projects.
  • Serve as primary statistical representative for biometrics standalone projects or otherwise complex studies
  • Develop and execute study designs and regulatory strategy as related to drug development
  • Develop and review statistical analysis plans based on study specific documents and sound statistical methodology. Ensure the quality and integrity of data analysis and reporting
  • Develop, maintain, and produce statistical programs and specifications used in creating analysis datasets, tables, listings, and figures

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, equivalent, or higher in Biostatistics or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to foster strategic, collaborative, relationships with external stake holders
  • Strong communication skills required; daily communication with all levels of Sponsor and internal leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain credible and influential relationships with external thought leaders in oncology
  • Detailed understanding of study design for early phase oncology platform trials
  • Ability to perform detailed protocol review to provide recommendations to Sponsor
  • Understanding of finances, including budget management
  • Effective management of projects and resources
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Thorough understanding of the principles of ICH GCP and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical research or CRO setting required
  • Good verbal and written communication, fluent in English
