The Senior SHE & Risk Manager is responsible for the defining, implementing and leading the SHE and Risk strategy for the Company, with the aim of safeguarding the Organization, its People, the environment, and everything and everyone affected by what we do. 

As Senior SHE & Risk Manager you are the local SHE Officer, representing Roche Diagnostics UK & Ireland in the Group SHE organization. Your role will be to partner with key stakeholders to ensure compliance to SHE processes and SHE standards at the local level.  Using your expertise, you will advise on current and future, local and global, legislation and internal directives, and provide guidance and recommendations.

More specifically, the Senior SHE & Risk Manager has responsibility for:
 

  • ISO 14001, OHSAS 1800, and ISO 22301 Management Systems and the retention of certified status in these areas
  • KPI reporting
  • Internal and external audits and addressing findings
  • Leadership and Line Management of the Risk Manager and SHE Manager
  • Support bids and proposals from a SHE perspective


Who you are

Key to the success of this role and the SHE & Risk strategy is the proactive engagement with all internal and external stakeholders to identify, communicate and deliver effective systems and processes required to meet business needs whilst ensuring that SHE business risks are minimized.

Knowledge, skills and previous experience:
  • A degree or equivalent level of education, in science, engineering, risk or a related subject
  • A recognised professional qualification in occupational safety, such as NEBOSH diploma substantial experience in a similar or related position
  • Experience dealing with public authorities and managing crisis situations/disaster recovery
  • Influences and keeps up to date with legislative and best practice developments in the industry to ensure we are seen as a leader in our field
  • Experience of undertaking staff health surveys and conducts baseline assessment for occupational health risks
  • Effective manager of SHE project delivery teams gained in a UK commercial environment
  • Experience of carrying out in-house training and preparing for audit
  • Line management of a small SHE team
