HR Manager (f/m)  - Brussels office based     Who We Are Synteract is a global full-service contract research organization with a successful three-decade track record supporting biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical companies. With our mission of ”Bringing Clinical Trials to Life,” we provide customized Phase I through IV services internationally, offering expertise across multiple therapeutic areas including notable depth in Oncology, Neuro Degenerative Diseases, and Rare and Orphan Diseases, and in pediatric populations. Our mission is to support the innovation and development of better therapies in healthcare.   Position Overview The HR Manager is responsible for ongoing HR-related hands on topics and is contributing to international and global HR initiatives in close cooperation with the global HR team and internal and external stakeholders. As a local representative the HR Manager is a go to person for Synteract Brussels office management tasks.   Specific tasks would include

  • Stay on top of a variety of ongoing HR topics in close collaboration with the HR Business Partner Europe (compensation, reward and recognition, employment contracts, performance review, training, etc.)
  • Maintain and report employee information for internal systems (i.e. sickness days, maternity leave, vacation days, etc.)
  • Support local external payroll provider
  • Deliver state of the art labor law content and advice to Management
  • Create and update policies and processes (company car, onboarding, etc.)
  • Act as a go to person for (local) employees (employee relations, office support, office and safety guidelines, public transport subscription, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external (local) regulations and standards (GDPR, etc.)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor´s or Master`s degree (preferably HR, Economics, Psychology, etc.) or combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3+ years of generalist HR experience gained in an international organization
  • working knowledge of Belgium labor law and HR best practices required (labor law knowledge from additional countries is a nice to have)
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and cross-cultural skills, as well as a customer and solution oriented mentality
  • Strong MS office skills
  • Must have: fluent in English and local language (ideally Dutch and French)
