Job Summary:

Manage network optimization projects and identify opportunities for cost reduction or profitability improvement. Focus will be on the region EMEA region but the position could have to support analysis and tools implementation/governance for LATAM and APAC acting as a consultant thanks to EMEA experience.

The role

A project oriented role focused on developing supply chain strategy and network optimization plans for Baxter Operations.

The Baxter DC Network comprises a large & complex network of about 130 DCs (through a history of acquisitions, specific product characteristics, some commercially driven service levels etc.) representing $750M of cost per year working with a network of about 60 Baxter Plants and Third Party manufacturers. The EMEA region includes 20 DCs and 20 plants.

The SC leadership team has initiated a major transformation program which will deliver efficiency, cost savings and profitability improvements, in which this position will play a major role.

The applicant will work with a very wide network of contacts mostly in the Supply Chain areas but also in other functions in EMEA. In some projects, the position will require some work with people at corporate level.

Role Responsibilities

  • This position will be part of the EMEA Supply Chain team. The position will focus on developing innovative solutions to some of the supply chain initiatives
  • Project Manage Network Optimization opportunities: optimize DC Networks (Nb of DCs, Locations, Size), and identify service and financial inefficiencies in infrastructure and transport (Flows Optimization, Transportation and Service Level Opportunities) in selected markets or clusters (with special focus on UK, Ireland and Nordics)
  • Identify Project / Define the scope of the project in collaboration with management
  • Define and carry out project plan for specific clusters/countries
  • Support / delivery regional projects according to provided guidelines
  • Use Llamasoft and other tools to provide network modeling/optimization
  • Provide structured analysis to identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Review and validate data, build models, run scenarios, and assist in the preparation of results presentations
  • Fully document modeling approach, data sources and transformations, assumptions, and constraints
  • Support (in some cases) the implementation
  • Support TCTS (Total Cost to Serve) global program to reduce logistics costs and their impact on profitability at customer and product level.
  • Enable routine reporting on profitability for the SC, Manufacturing and Commercial management
  • Run ad-hoc analysis and provide support to other functions (manufacturing, commercial, transportation, corporate ..) in their profitability studies, identify and communicate opportunities
  • Develop Global KPIs, Dashboards and Score Cards
  • Support other team members in SharePoint creation and update
  • Reporting tool maintenance and KPIs tracking
