Job Summary:

Do you have a PhD in Organic chemistry or similar qualification and work experience with the chemical industry? Does working for a Pharma company with dedicated focus on R&D appeal to you? In this role you would be focussed on the development of safe, cost effective and environmentally friendly processes for the synthesis of novel compounds selected from the work of the Research Team.


Responsibilities include:

  • Assists in the identification and development of manufacturing routes and processes to guarantee timely support to Drug Candidates, meeting cost and supply objectives.
  • Manage the raw material suppliers and intermediates, in conjunction with the QA team, with the focus on scientific, economic, logistic and regulatory factors.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for the generation and protection of IP and provide assistance in the preparation of related documents.
  • Review documents to support filing  Small Molecules rationale, PAR justification (synthesis and process) criticality, spiking report, assessment report, etc.
  • Preparation of technical reports and manuscripts.
  • Assist with the technology transfer process required for manufacturing



  • PhD in Organic Chemistry or equivalent, with 3 years plus experience in Chemical area of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical industry legislation and guidelines with specific reference to quality, environmental issues and safety.
  • In-depth understanding of the requirements of the full API development process within a pharmaceutical setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all the GMP for API manufacturing and the laws and regulation for aspects related to the industry.
  • Use DoE to change multiple variables simultaneously and identify acceptable ranges for operational parameters.
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of ICH M7 guideline on genotoxic impurities.
  • Proven track-record and thorough cross-functional knowledge of relevant API production activities.
  • Experience in Process Research scale-up and manufacturing within Chemical Industry is an advantage
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Salary: €40,000 Per annum / Expat tax package if applicable + Relocation allowance if appropriate
