A FTSE 100 firm, based in Birmingham, currently require an Employee Relations Specialist to join a team in proactively managing escalated issues and providing employee relations advice.

A FTSE 100 firm, based in Birmingham, currently require an Employee Relations Specialist to proactively case manage escalated issues, providing employee relations advice with regard to company policy, procedure and current legislation, to managers at all levels within the business sector the ER Specialist is aligned to.

Salary - Competitive
Type - Permanent

Responsibilities:
• To proactively case manage live employee relations issues escalated from the ER Advisors and directly from the business.
• To gather relevant facts for each case managed to ensure the advice given is the most appropriate in the circumstances.
• To support Managers with the formation of disciplinary allegations and letter writing for case outcomes.
• To provide telephone support to the ER Advisors to cover sickness, holidays and labour shortages.
• To log call details in an effective manner in the system
• To review and advise on case evidence/notes and procedural correspondence
• Coach, guide and influence managers to take the best approach to dealing with employee relations issues.
• Ensure cases are managed effectively and timely.
• Manage all Long Term Sickness Cases for your sector
• To build strong working relationships with the managers responsible for undertaking employee relation procedures
• Provide solutions to employee relation issues and highlight business risk for each approach
• Support with senior manager employee relation issues out in the business.
• Ensure relevant stakeholders are aware of potential employee relations issues
• To run HR training courses to the business as required.
• To identify opportunities for policy / procedural improvement.
• To provide HR Procedure witness evidence at tribunal as required

Requirements:
• Good knowledge of Employment Legislation and Codes of practice
• Confident communicator, with the ability to articulate a high level of oral and written English
• IT literate – Word, Email, Spreadsheets and Intranet
• Good working knowledge at HR/ER Advisor or equivalent
