This role is based in our new modern state of the art office in Nottingham city centre which has excellent transport links and has a great working environment and the feel of an innovative technology company.

System Architect will be focused on delivering analysis, design, development, overseeing deployment, and integration of complex architectures and systems. Working with other members of Technology functions to design and create an eClinical platform. Develop multi-tiered architectures, design documents and assist with the deployment of systems and applications for the PI portfolio hosted in the cloud and on premise. The System Architect will research new technologies to meet project and business requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting business process design workshops related to relevant systems
  • Performing impact and system analysis based on business requirements
  • Creation of infrastructure solution designs; developing and nurture consensus and working relationships with technical teams from other product verticals to ensure coordination and integration in projects and programs
  • Participating in SAFe programs; leading infrastructure deployment activities
  • Collaborating with other technical teams and ensure transfer of technical knowledge to support teams. Assist in the development and evolution of architectural standards, guidelines, reference architecture, and the eClinical Technology Roadmap
  • Delivering a positive, memorable and meaningful service which exceeds the expectations of both the internal and external customers.
  • Provide architectural vision to appropriately align solutions to strategic business needs and goals.
  • Research, evaluates and selects from existing and emerging technologies to support the strategic business and solution needs.
  • Architects solutions across multiple hardware/software computing environments and system components.
  • Demonstrate experience of working and designing solutions utilising Microsoft Azure.
  • Meet with customers and business owners to gather new requirements.
  • Defines the system, technical, and security architectures.
  • Ensures appropriate technical standards and procedures are defined.
  • Ensures best practices are adhered to in the adoption of new technologies.
  • Performs system, sub-system, and component-level interrelationship assessments, problem/risk analyses.
  • Interface with all software engineers and/or subordinate architects to ensure any issues arising during design and implementation can be resolved within the fundamental architecture concepts, user needs, and constraints.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance for other engineers as appropriate.
  • Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modelling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner.
  • Demonstrates Leadership Behaviours as laid out in the PAREXEL Leadership Competency Model.
QualificationsSkills
  • Knowledge of cloud (Microsoft Azure) service provider capabilities and integration required
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation and DevOps
  • Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience designing, implementing technology roadmaps and working
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft infrastructure on-premises, cloud and hybrid hosting environments
  • Knowledge of modern technology service architectural hosting, security, and risk management concerns such as IDAM, monitoring, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science or related field required
  • Or equivalent work experience and have a demonstrable experience
