My client is a Global Pharmaceutical company with a dynamic, innovative and entrepreneurial approach to drug development and product registrations, and they are now seeking an MD with experience in clinical development  to take a leadership role as an Associate Medical Director on multiple products within various stages of development  for Neurology indications.

The pipeline is growing and expanding  and there is strong data in the public domain which shows that the emerging products in early development are looking very strong! One of the special things about working here is that this organisation has the spirit of a start-up but with the infrastructure and stability of big Pharma, whilst also offering the opportunity to take the lead in global development initiatives in early and late stage through to filing.

The Role

Within the Neurology franchise you will be accountable for providing medical expertise and medical leadership into clinical development strategies to allow project teams to successfully deliver the clinical studies aligned with the Target Patient Value Profile (TPVP) and Clinical Development Plan (CDP). The focus will be on all aspects of clinical drug development including but not limited to medical input into indication selection, assessment of current and future treatment strategies, unmet need, target patient population, TPVP, clinical development plans, clinical study protocols and reports and regulatory submission documents.

Its important that are able to be innovative in clinical drug development, assessing current and future treatment strategies  working together with internal and external stakeholders to find solutions for patients living with severe diseases.

Nature & Scope

You will be tasked with developing and executing  high quality, innovative, state-of-the-art and feasible clinical development programs and will be seen as a medical expert in the therapeutic area and will partner with all key team members to provide development projects with high quality medical expertise.  

You will also be:

  • Providing medical and scientific input into project teams developing and executing clinical development programs 
  • Offering expertise and medical monitoring into indication selection, unmet patient needs, target patient population, for clinical development plans, protocols, statistical analysis plans, clinical study reports, Investigator Brochure, annual safety reports, submission related documents and other documents with content of medical relevance leading to successful registration and launch of patient solutions
  • Ensuring the study-related safety of the subjects in the clinical trials through appropriate medical monitoring of studies on an ongoing basis – with or without independent data and safety monitoring boards.

Education and Experience

It’s essential that you have a Medical qualification (MD) and experience in Neurology/Neuroscinences with strong "hands-on" knowledge of clinical development, ideally with knowledge of the regulatory framework and the ability to communicate effectively with internal (including senior and executive management) and external key stakeholders (including regulatory authorities).
