This role can be either home based in any of the following countries or office based (in brackets for the respective country) for the following :
UK (Uxbridge), Poland (Cracow or Warsaw), Romania (Bucharest), Czech Republic (Prague), Ireland (Dublin) or Spain (Madrid)

As the Associate Project Director or Project Director, EPD you will be providing initial leadership of large and complex clinical trials or clinical trial programs and the project teams to achieve operational excellence; and delivering projects/programs on time, to budget, to the highest quality, compliant with ICH-GCP and exceeding client expectations.

You will work almost independently, requiring minimal interaction/supervision by Line Manager who may be a Portfolio Director EPD. You will mentor and manage Project Leaders of all levels. You may also contribute actively in proposal development teams, using their knowledge and experience to develop innovative plans and program architecture.

Key Accountabilities:

Client Liaison
- Owns the day-to-day client relationship and responsible for client communication ensuring high client satisfaction, related to project & program assignments under the supervision of the Line Manager.
- Participates in cooperative alliances if requested, along with PFD, with significant influencers at multiple levels within the client organization.
- Seeks out opportunities to leverage the relationship for future sales.

Project Initiation & Planning
- Lead client kick off meeting and discussion with client, by establishing client expectations for project or program delivery, communication, and client specific metrics.
- Lead a formal hand over meeting with Account Management, Portfolio Director(s), Proposals and contracts and assigned Project Financial Analyst and Project Specialist to understand the scope of the contract and any Master Services agreement in place for the client.

Project Implementation, Control & Evaluation
- Lead the project or program such that it is completed within budget, schedule and according to contract specifications with minimal supervision of the Line Manager.
- Ensure information entered in management systems and tools is up-to-date any time.
- Use management reports prepared by the Project Financial Analyst and Project Specialists to effectively manage the project’s critical path, resourcing, metrics compliance, the budget and third-party vendors in cooperation with the Line Manager.

Communication
- Capitalize on the diverse background and viewpoints to increase the productivity of the group.
- Lead regular meetings/calls with client to ensure they are fully informed of project progress, pro-active decisions/solutions and how the project objectives are being achieved.

Project Closeout
- Oversee all administrative closeout procedures are completed, according to relevant SOPs.
- Ensure project is archived and all documentation returned to the client as specified in the contract.
- Lead end of study meeting to ensure lessons learned information is documented and passed on via appropriate channels.

Team Management/ Development
- Provide day to day operational management guidance and coaching to team members he/she will lead.
- Assigns responsibilities to effectively take advantage of available skills and address development needs.
- Structures activities/projects to enable reasonable workload and work/life balance.
QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science/medical related field, with an advanced degree desirable
- PMP or equivalent desirable

Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven substantial relevant experience in clinical research, project management or contract
research organization
- Proven substantial leadership experience
- Strong previous experience in Project Management operating and managing project leads or project managers within a clinical environment from either the CRO or Pharma industry.
