Requirements:

ProClinical are currently recruiting for a Packaging Engineer job in Zurich. The company is a multinational medical device manufacturer and are at the forefront of biomaterials, musculoskeletal, instruments and other orthopaedic technologies. This Packaging Engineer role will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, calibration, and use of packaging test equipment. You will be assigned to the implementation and validation of test methods and processes including those used for verification and validation of sterile and non-sterile packaging systems.

Job Responsibilities:

* Packaging design selection based on existing global tool box
* Adaptions where necessary or design entirely new packaging configurations
* Responsible for updating, creating and implementing design control and risk management
* Documentation for packaging configurations according to internal requirements
* Defining test requirements, writing protocols
* Creating and reviewing process development documents
* Involving and managing relevant departments such as Product Engine, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Engineering and Assurance, Supplier Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing Department, Labelling & IFU department amongst others
* Collaboration with suppliers for packaging components or testing services
* Facilitate and support inter-departmental and regional sites collaboration for Quality, Cost Saving, Audit Preparation or other initiatives
* Involved with manufacturing to define and evaluate new processes and infrastructure
* Complying with global laws and standards (MDR, FDA, amongst others), GSOP’s, SOP’s, WI’s

Skills and Requirements:

* BSc or MSc Degree in Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering or other Natural Sciences, preferably in Packaging Engineering with specialisation in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Packaging
* Basic level of GMP, GDP, MDR and ISO 13485 / FDA requirements
* Up to 3 years of professional experience in relevant positions / industries
* Preferably Polymer Technology and Plastic Moulding Technology
* Customer oriented, open and collaborative personality
* Candidates must be able to meet Swiss work permit requirement
* Ability to communicate in German and English both orally and in written
