Requirements:

The Project Manager, Information Technology (IT) Governance will lead projects to make significant changes to the procedures/processes within Information Technology.  The position will be a contributor to endeavors undertaken by the IT Governance group that may extend across IT or even into other groups such as QA, HR, Legal, etc.  The position will manage or coordinate projects or subprojects from initiation through delivery.  Analyzes cross-project interdependencies in order to avoid potential impacts and identifies optimizations in regard to scope, schedule, and resource utilization. Works under moderate supervision, with stakeholders, to identify and evaluate fundamental issues on the project. Reviews data on complex issues, makes good business decisions and ensures solutions are implementable and/or implemented as required. Ensures all project deliverables meet time and quality expectations.  Manages and provides oversight and direction to allocated project team members to ensure quality and timely delivery of project deliverables.

 

The position will develop and institute standards for assuring IT remains compliant with internal SOP's and WPD's, along with updating the standards to meet new regulatory requirements as needed.  This position may be writing or updating procedural documents and policies.  This position will be a part of the activities around oversight and management of the process for updating the SOP’s and WPD’s, associated training matrices and all other documents required for IT to meet its regulatory requirements. 

 

The position will provide training for new processes and provide consulting to ensure processes are followed successfully. This position will also provide support to IT employees who have project specific questions regarding procedures.  The position may provide support for audits (including coverage and responses).

Qualifications

Education and Experience 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5 years’ including experience managing projects through all aspects of a project life cycle) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.

• Project management certification is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels

• Critical thinker with good judgment and strong initiative

• Experience in demonstrating leadership/influence and collaboration across multiple and diverse groups

• Experience with managing projects through all aspects of a project life cycle

• Strong leadership and teamwork abilities

• Ability to work independently, be creative and innovative problem solver

• Ability to delegate, effectively prioritize own and project team members workload

• Ability to effectively use automated systems and computerized applications such as Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word

• Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills

• Experience managing geographically distributed teams

• Knowledge of Six Sigma, COBIT, ITIL, or other QMS frameworks

• Knowledge of the key principles of cross functional project management (ex: Time, Quality, Cost)

• Proven track record of strong project management skills

Management Role:

• No line management responsibility. Must be able to manage teams by influence.

Working Conditions and Environment:

• Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.

• Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel both domestic and international.

• Long, varied hours may be required

 

Physical Requirements:

 

• Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.

• Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

Frequent mobility required.

• Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck..

• Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.

• Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.

• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

• Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups.

• Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Requires multiple periods of intense concentration.

• Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.

• Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multi-task.

• Regular and consistent attendance
