The role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our procurement team as Procurement Manager (Managed Laboratory Services) UK & Ireland.

You will play a key role within the Finance & Operations function as an experienced Procurement professional, contributing to the strategy, direction and development of a best-in-class procurement organisation. You will be amongst fellow procurement professionals, bringing expertise, fresh ideas and perspectives to Roche.

Demonstrating strong commercial skills and experience of working within a strategic procurement function, you will support the Senior Procurement Manager, Managed Services to develop the Managed Laboratory Services (MLS) procurement categories and respective Category Plan(s) for Roche. MLS cover all services and diagnostics solutions sourced from our third party suppliers.

This is a varied and stimulating role with a wealth of opportunities to drive improvements and influence change. You will develop and implement procurement strategies to continuously improve total cost of ownership, service and quality for MLS categories. You will also drive continuous improvement of third party supplier performance in close collaboration with stakeholders.

As part of your remit, you will mainly focus on:

  • Driving and facilitating the "source to contract" process for specific categories. This includes the resolution of any contract related issues
  • Third party relationship management within the MLS framework
  • Identification of new products and services that may impact and/or enhance sourcing execution
  • Ensure robust contracts are completed for all relevant agreements with corresponding  SLAs and KPI's working alongside  our Commercial and Sales Managers to support the MLS Sales tender process
  • Provide robust spend and market analysis, including but not limited to forecasts on costs variations and market changes
  • Manage and mitigate commercial and contractual risk
  • Review internal and external processes to drive further optimisation


Who you are

You are an experienced Procurement professional, with experience in strategic sourcing, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to sell the vision of Procurement to the business.

  • Experience within a global or regional  procurement function
  • University degree or post-graduate qualification, (Business, Biochemistry or Engineering would be advantageous). Masters degree & MCIPS qualification is a plus
  • Ability to travel
