Requirements:

Our client, HQ in Belgium, is a global integrated biopharmaceutical company, developing treatments for retinal disorders. They pioneered products are approved in more than 55 countries worldwide.

Thanks to new product launches and extending the global rights of their products, they’re currently looking for a Key Account Manager Retina, planning directing & coordinating all commercial activities and strategies with KOLs in UK.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, Belgian HQ based, the Key Account Manager will address issues and ensure national coverage and consistent approach, with following responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining Key Opinion Leader relationships and professional retina organizations and societies, decision makers, etc.;
  • Being responsive to customer inquiries and demands;
  • Ensuring customers understand the logistics of utilization of the Retina Products;
  • Ensuring “Benefits Investigation” processes and reimbursement is understood and mastered; influencing market access & regulatory for new products; 
  • Recruiting and developing speakers and programs;
  • Coordinating and serving as a liaison between priority KOL & customer relationships and the clients corproate executives;
  • Scheduling and attending major/national conferences;
  • Transversal collaboration with Marketing, Medical, to attend, facilitate meetings, case study discussions, etc.;
  • Managing overall budget to maximize effectiveness and minimize costs;
  • Scheduling 1:1 business meetings with key stakehoders;
  • Creating synergies within accounts to enhance value of the company and its products;

 

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor in Life Sciences, MBA preferred;
  • Over 5 years’ commercial experience as Key Account ideally in Ophthalmology disease area;
  • Demonstrated successful sales experience;
  • Experience in ophthalmic pharmaceutical products (retina preferred), understanding of ophthalmology surgery trends, buy and bill sales models, (first) experience in field sales and reimbursement;  
  • Well-established networks and active relationships with Ophthalmology-focused KOLs, and by preference with the Medical Retina community;
  • Knowledge of compliance environment and related statues, guidelines and company policies;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), energetically embrace responsibilities, demonstrated ability to achieve goals, and have a strong personal initiative;
  • Ability to contribute to and support the company’s growth and value creation strategies;
  • Decisive & important areas of expertise include strong leadership, project management, and process improvement abilities;
  • Personal effectiveness, self-management, interpersonal skills, entrepreneurial and leadership skills;
  • Home-Office / UK based; willing to travel;
