16th EPSA Autumn Assembly
On behalf of the Reception Committee and the whole Croatian Pharmacy and Medical Biochemistry Students’ Association (CPSA), I’m kindly inviting you to 16th EPSA Autumn Assembly that will take place between 29th of October and 3rd of November, 2019, in the picturesque Croatian town of Poreč. The charming hospitality of Croatian citizens along with beautiful Mediterranean landscapes, just a few hundred meters from the blue Adriatic Sea, will fit perfectly to the excellence associated with EPSA events.
The Congress topic “Quo vadis, pharmacy? Paving the way towards biological therapy” will put an emphasis on biopharmaceutical medicines, offering a wide range of knowledge for the participating students.
Scientific perspective and translational medicine will inform us on what is currently being developed in the R&D industrial and academic laboratories and what is coming to the clinical practice in the near future, while technological aspects and the phenomenon of the shift from chemistry-based to biotechnology-based pharmacy will be thoroughly stressed out.
In addition, as the innovations’ commercial success tightly depends on economic factors, rising regulatory issues and discussing novel financial models that the healthcare stakeholders are faced with is of the great importance. Along with that, the emphasis will also be put on the importance of the interprofessional collaboration and pharmacists’ role in delivering therapies to patients which will maximize the adherence rate and thus generate better treatment outcomes and financial savings.
Moreover, during the whole Congress, you will have a wonderful opportunity of interacting and having a lot of fun with students from 37 European countries, recent-graduates, EPSA Alumni, speakers and our institutional and corporate partners. Liaising with the professionals is a key towards career success and both the Reception Committee and the EPSA Team will join forces in order to enable you to do so.
I’m also encouraging you to apply for our Pre-Congress Tour (PCT) and use the opportunity to investigate the beauties of our magnificent country, which is the historic home of the first European community pharmacy from the 13th century. The PCT will take place between 26th and 29th of October.
For our EPSA veterans, I am strongly recommending applying for the Alumni Weekend, where you will be able to #CROnnectYourselves once more in the beautiful lands of Istria and Poreč.
