Susan Garfield joins Bridgehead International Boston office

Susan Garfield has joined Bridgehead International as VP, Bridgehead USA Inc. and will head up the company’s Boston office. Susan is a market access, reimbursement and economics strategist, with an expertise in demand creation and advocacy.
 For over 12 years, Susan’s professional career has focused on innovations in healthcare, the economics of practice change, and the role of reimbursement and policy to the adoption of new technologies. Her work has included economic modelling, coding analyses and applications, payer coverage campaigns, market strategies for innovative technologies, health policy development, government relations, and creating partnerships between industry and advocacy groups.
Prior to joining Bridgehead, Susan was Director, Global Reimbursement, Policy and Economic Strategy at QIAGEN Corporation (formally Digene Corporation). Before QIAGEN, Susan was a Director at Boston Healthcare Consulting. During her tenure there, she worked with biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic firms on market access strategy and execution. In this role Susan translated primary research with over 2,000 clinicians, payers, government decision-makers and patients into actionable programs for clients.
Susan received her BA in English and Women’s Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s of Science in Population and Development from the London School of Economics, and a Master’s of Science in Health Policy and Management from Harvard University, School of Public Health. She is currently completing the Doctorate of Public Health program at Boston University.
