To mark the American Society of Clinical Oncology's 2003 conference, LeadDiscovery has launched The Oncology Collection. The Oncology Collection groups all of LeadDiscovery's oncology services in one package. The Oncology Collection offers key tools for oncology including:

  • DailyUpdates: the Oncology Channel - Daily alerts of breaking journal articles and press releases in the field of oncology R&D[more]
  • DiscoveryDossiers - analyses of breaking oncology drug discovery targets[more]
  • PharmaReports - in depth accounts of oncology markets[more]
  • Kinase Enterprise Library - identification of lead anticancer therapeutics [more]

DailyUpdates was launched in 2002 and represents the first "newsfeed" that identifies both breaking scientific publications with drug development potential and press releases. Each week PubMed lists over 100,000 new scientific articles. Using proprietary data retrieval strategies LeadDiscovery selects 2,500 of these PubMed articles to be scanned by an industrial research panel for publications judged to be of greatest benefit for the drug development sector. Selected publications are delivered through the DailyUpdates newsfeeds (example) and via e-mail alerts (example). The Oncology Channel is dedicated to identifying breaking publications with importance for cancer R&D and oncology press releases. Subscription is available for as little as £50/year on an individual license or alternatively many organizations are subscribing to our corporate package for just £300/year [subscribe]

DiscoveryDossiers are full analyses of specific projects or entire therapeutic areas. Offering more than just a simple review, dossiers are designed to pinpoint the therapeutic potential of selected research and the practical steps that can be taken to exploit this potential. Identifying ground-breaking ideas for new therapies or developed products ready to enter the clinic DiscoveryDossiers are of use at multiple points of the drug development pathway. Consequently our industrial experience has helped researchers, licensing personnel and senior management alike identify the drugs of tomorrow. Dossiers currently on offer include:

  • Retinoids : An A-Z guide to their biology, therapeutic opportunities & pharmaceutical development [more]
  • Targeting endogenous inhibitors of apoptosis: Opportunities for the treatment of cancer, stroke and MS [more]
  • Histone deacetylase inhibitors: Redefining pharmaceutical approaches to the treatment of cancer [more]

PharmaReports Through strategic partnerships with a number of companies LeadDiscovery offers full business reports on selected sectors of the pharmaceutical and biotech sector. Many of these reports focus on cancer, both in general and in relation to niche sectors of the oncology market. Reports currently on offer include:

  • Cancer Immunotherapy R&D [more]
  • The lymphoma market [more]
  • Colon Cancer Therapeutics [more]
  • Cancer Treatment 2002 [more]

Kinase Enterprise Library Protein kinases are the second largest group of drug targets after G-protein-coupled receptors, and they account for 20-30% of the drug discovery programs of many companies, many of which are related to oncology. To date three protein kinase inhibitors have been approved for clinical use and a further 23 protein kinase inhibitors are known to be undergoing human clinical trials. This figure is set to increase since the protein kinases comprise the largest enzyme family with approximately 500 being encoded by the human genome. The provision of high quality chemistry libraries and the ability to screen these libraries for kinase inhibitors will both increase our understanding of novel kinases and also allow the development of new therapeutic strategies. The "Kinase Enterprise Library" provides an assay ready collection of candidate kinase inhibitors [more]
