Employer Direct Healthcare announces availability of SurgeryPlus® for State of Florida in 2019
DALLAS, Aug. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Employer Direct Healthcare (the "Company") is excited to announce its contract with the Florida Department of Management Services (the "State") to provide the state employee health plan participants with its SurgeryPlus product offering beginning January 1, 2019. SurgeryPlus®, the Company's flagship product, is a supplemental benefit for non-emergency surgeries, providing high-quality care, a better experience, and lower costs. SurgeryPlus was selected by the State of Florida after a competitive procurement.
With the new SurgeryPlus benefit, state employees and their dependents will receive access to full health concierge service with personal Care Advocates who will help members navigate their health needs and identify qualified providers.
John Zutter, Chief Executive Officer of Employer Direct Healthcare, said, "Following on our success with other government benefit plans, we are extremely excited to partner with the State of Florida in improving the quality of care for its almost 400,000 members. Through our Care Advocates, we will help members navigate the opaque healthcare ecosystem to seek out top-quality care at fair prices."
SurgeryPlus® will create substantial savings, for both the state and its members, through pre-negotiated and discounted bundled rates with providers. By packaging surgical expenses into one simple bundled rate with high-quality providers, SurgeryPlus® will help save money for members and help them avoid unexpected medical bills. Members will also receive meaningful financial incentives, potentially saving members thousands of dollars.
