ST. LOUIS, September 10, 2018

ST. LOUIS, September 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- PLNK STL, a studio that features Lagree Method, Pilates-inspired 50-minute workouts founded by St. Louis native, Brooke Meek, in 2016, has expanded to the Central West End (CWE). The company adds the CWE studio located in the Citizen Park Building at 4647 Lindell Blvd. to its first location at 1560 S. Lindbergh Blvd. A grand opening event is planned for Saturday, September 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a live DJ, food, drinks, and prizes.

"It was time to open a second location," said PLNK STL founder, Brooke Meek. "Our membership is growing exponentially and we needed to expand. The CWE is the perfect place for our second studio and when the Citizen Park building was finished, we knew that was our space, right next to a myriad of other fitness options."

While Meek may be sharing space with other fitness institutions, there is no doubt PLNK STL is distinct. Dubbed "Pilates on steroids," the Lagree Method uses a Megaformer machine to build strong, lean muscles without the impact. High-intensity but low impact, the workout manipulates time, tension, momentum, and velocity to trigger an adaptive response in the body.

"It combines cardio, strength, flexibility, and core; clients work muscles to failure, resulting in greater metabolic response," she said. "There's a reason this is what the supermodels do."

Members are males and females of all ages and range from pro athletes to first-timers to people committed to their fitness who have experienced an injury. Health aficionados who can no longer engage in high-impact activity are driven towards this challenging, low-impact workout.

Meek has hired 12 staff members for the CWE location, many of whom are the studio's core trainers. All trainers are advanced Lagree certified. Over 40 classes will be offered per week, starting as early as 5 a.m. and as late as 7 p.m., seven days a week. The founding studio currently has 33 staff members and reports over $500,000 in annual revenue after only two years in business. Meek anticipates the CWE location to generate slightly more in its first year.

The grand opening on Saturday, September 29 kicks off with an 8:30 a.m. class with four classes running throughout the morning. Each class is limited to 16 spots and reservations must be made in advance through PLNK's MindBody site. PLNK STL was founded by St. Louis native, Brooke Meek, in 2016 to address a fitness gap—the absence of high intensity, low-impact workouts—in the St. Louis market. Offering a total body, 50-minute workout, PLNK STL studios feature the Lagree Method and utilize a Megaformer. The unique workout focuses on targeted muscular strength building and conditioning; it combines cardio, strength, core, flexibility and balance to work multiple muscles with slow controlled movements under constant tension to burn more calories and trigger a greater metabolic response. Although it feels high-intensity, members' joints stay protected and their spinal alignment improves. Currently, the company has two studio locations: one in Frontenac at 1560 S. Lindbergh Blvd. and one in the Central West End located in the Citizen Park Building at 4647 Lindell Blvd. For more information, visit
