IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- BIOLASE, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIOL), the global leader in dental lasers, is flipping the script on what it means to head to the dentist. Its new campaign – #KeepDramaAtTheMovies – speaks to the reality that adults and kids alike experience anxiety at the dentist due to fear of pain, invasive treatments, inconvenient side effects or lengthy recovery times. The goal of the campaign is to educate patients and dentists that with minimally invasive dental lasers, such as the BIOLASE Waterlase® family of all-tissue lasers, dental drama no longer has to be the norm, keeping the drama for the big screen.

Today, BIOLASE is kicking off this initiative with a social media sweepstakes across the company's social channels, offering followers a chance to win a $25 pass to the movie of their choice.  With this initiative, BIOLASE hopes to raise awareness among patients that their dental visit can be less stressful and dramatic when finding a dentist who uses laser technology, especially the market-leading Waterlase all-tissue dental laser.

In addition, BIOLASE has produced a commercial highlighting the anxiety and drama surrounding dental appointments, and how dental lasers can help. While the production plays on the side of humor, the Company hopes this will encourage individuals to take control of their oral health and find a Waterlase dentist in their area. Waterlase all-tissue dental lasers allow dentists to provide minimally-invasive, pain-free laser dentistry to their patients with less pain and faster recovery times, which will make dental trips easier for both children and their parents.

"We are very excited about this creative and compelling campaign," said Todd Norbe, President and Chief Executive Officer of BIOLASE. "More patients and dentists need to be aware of advances in dental technologies that will greatly reduce the anxiety and invasiveness of dental treatments. The campaign is a fun way for us to help patients take charge of their dental care and educate them on the latest options."

This new initiative by BIOLASE continues to show the company's commitment to advancing dentistry. For the sweepstakes rules and regulations, click here. To view the commercial, click here.
