NEW YORK, Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cinematic Health Education is entering the healthcare training market with ReadyCNA, a unique and comprehensive approach to training individuals for careers as certified nursing assistants. The company was formed through the acquisition of certain assets of Cognotion, Inc., a developer of story-based vocational certification programs, and funding by ReThink Education, a New York City-based venture capital firm focused on education technology investments. The company plans to launch additional programs across the allied health market for certifications as well as continuing education in 2019.

ReadyCNA is an extensive cloud-based training program that revolves around "The Residents," a three-hour, Hollywood-quality movie that depicts the experience of a newly hired CNA. The training is complemented with video interviews of real-life medical personnel, 180 bite-sized training videos, quizzes, practice tests, and other learning tools. ReadyCNA goes beyond helping students learn required skills and achieve CNA certification by preparing them for the emotional and interpersonal challenges of the job – as well as its rewards. ReadyCNA can be adapted to meet the CNA certification requirements in all 50 U.S. states.

ReadyCNA is designed to efficiently and cost-effectively address the acute labor shortage faced by most long-term care facilities. The Institute for the Future of Aging Services predicts an 18% increase in the number of CNA jobs over the next decade. The IFAS estimates that there are approximately 75,000 current job vacancies, and this demand is exacerbated by a very high annual turnover rate – typically in excess of 45%. In fact, turnover in the first 90 to 120 days of employment can be 90% or higher.

"We've seen great success in facilities that have implemented ReadyCNA, and we are encouraged by the market's increasing awareness of our cinematic approach to training," said Tim Murray, CEO, Cinematic Health Education. "Our vision is to apply our methodology and pedagogy to develop the most engaging and comprehensive training and certification programs for allied health professionals, including medical assistants, emergency medical technicians and dental assistants. We believe this memorable, affordable training can address some of the healthcare market's toughest challenges."

"ReadyCNA is not just another video training program. We immediately recognized not only the high engagement factor of its approach, but also its value in training diverse audiences with a broad range of educational and experiential backgrounds," said Rick Segal, managing partner, ReThink Education. "We believe Cinematic Health Education has the potential to change the way that training is conducted in the allied healthcare markets."

ReadyCNA is currently distributed through Straightaway Health Careers, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bertelsmann AG. For more details and product inquiries, email For further information on Cinematic Health Education, visit
