StudyKIK Releases "Virtual Waiting Room" for Time Sensitive Clinical Trial Recruitment
COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 30, 2018
COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- StudyKIK, a clinical trial patient recruitment company headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, has revealed an innovative solution to enroll participants in clinical studies who do not meet eligibility criteria at the time of screening but may do so in the near future. Known as their, "Virtual Waiting Room", StudyKIK has designed this program to ensure that all potentially eligible subjects have the opportunity to join applicable research studies.
"We often see patients excluded from a trial because they are either not experiencing a flare-up, taking exclusionary medications, or are otherwise ineligible for a reason that could be adjusted for given more time. The solution was simple, explain the situation to the patient and build a solution that allows us to keep the patient engaged on behalf of the site until he or she successfully experiences a flare up," said Sam Haiden, StudyKIK's Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships.
While time-sensitive trials are notoriously difficult to enroll, this solution addresses the need to first identify a quality patient and take the burden of continuous follow-up off of research sites. Through their robust patient communities, data from past clinical trials, and in-house qualification team, StudyKIK is able to identify and refer patients to clinical programs in their geographic area. Their qualification team then contacts and pre-qualifies the patient based on the eligibility criteria of the study. If the participant does not meet the requirements during pre-screening, the patient is introduced to the research site and placed in StudyKIK's "Virtual Waiting Room". The qualification team then provides a series of contact points to the patient, over an extended period of time, in order to keep him/her engaged and involved in the enrollment process. This allow the subject to immediately notify all applicable parties when he/she experiences a flare up or otherwise meets the eligibility criteria. When this happens, StudyKIK's system alerts the site as well as provides the patient with transportation if needed to get to the research site. Through this system, the patient is given the best chance of enrolling in a trial and research site staff are able focus on the incoming patients and study procedures.
StudyKIK's Executive Director of Operation, Brian Kay, stated:
"We wanted to focus on the logistics establishing a relationship between the site and the patient while simultaneously streamline the proactive outreach from patient to site when a disease related episode takes place. We have achieved just that with the added benefit of alleviating the operational burden a site would otherwise have to take on."
This service is perfect for indications including, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Disease, influenza symptoms, and Sickle Cell to name a few. StudyKIK is confident that it's "Virtual Waiting Room" will help establish a relationship between the patient and the research site, take the time consuming patient outreach off the research site's workload, and allow the managing CRO or sponsor to track and enroll more patients.
