Savii Fuels Innovation in Private Duty Home Care with Appointment of New Vice President of Product
TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 4, 2018
TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Savii, Inc. (http://www.saviicare.com) announced today that Ashley Wharton has joined the technology company as Vice President of Product to continue their growth and expansion into the private duty home care market and beyond.
Ashley Wharton comes to Savii with 17 years of experience within the post-acute industry. "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join Savii and work on a solution that will lower the barrier to entry and deployment for providers in the post-acute space," Wharton said.
Deep experience in electronic health records software and tech in healthcare.
Wharton's expertise spans the intersection of clinical practice, operational processes, and data and technology. This has allowed him to succeed in roles as a clinician, CIO and COO. For the last eight years, he has supported BAYADA — a large home health care provider — at the corporate level, contributing through multiple roles: from clinical quality and compliance through technology and innovation in the recruitment and retention space. He also provided support and leadership during their transition from a paper-based clinical system to a full electronic medical record system, and participated on the vendor's product advisory board.
Before BAYADA, Wharton implemented three electronic medical record systems in his role as CIO for the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, where he served for seven years. Before that role, he worked as an independent consultant assisting numerous healthcare organizations in implementation and process optimization of EMR systems. Wharton also worked as a registered nurse before moving into the technology field and earning a Masters degree in Information Systems from Liverpool University, U.K.
"As a former caregiver and leader in provider organizations, my decision to join Savii was based on their values and passion for delivering solutions based on innovation — particularly their focus on improving the user experience for everyone: both the caregiver in the home and the team supporting the care," Wharton explained.
The technology solution for healthcare that private home caregivers need.
Savii CEO Kristen Duell notes that Wharton's leadership will be key to the continued growth of the company, stating, "Ashley's expertise will help us redefine what it means to be a technology partner and deliver the intuitive solutions that our industry has been craving for years." Duell recently shared her insights on digital technology in healthcare in this interview.
Staff turnover is a huge problem for agencies providing private care for elderly at home, Duell observes. "Many technology companies believe they can drive agency improvement, but don't address how their tech affects the caregivers. Our experience in the post-acute industry enables us to look at our clients with a wider lens while driving technology from an innovative and intuitive point of view."
With an aging demographic profile and increased life expectancy, there is continued growth in the demand for cost-effective post acute care and rehabilitation delivered in people's homes. Innovative technology such as healthcare wearables and artificial intelligence in medicine are making that care more efficient and effective than ever. Unlike the plethora of software companies servicing the post-acute market space, Savii has built an easy-to-use app-based solution suitable for use on any device, regardless of platform. This intuitive integration of tech and healthcare is how to grow private duty home care profitability for forward-thinking agencies.
Duell explains, "Using their existing tech and mobile devices, agencies can set up the solution with minimal cost, allowing agencies to focus on recruitment as well as retention. Savii Care is unmatched across the sector and offers a significant competitive advantage with its ability to simplify our complex healthcare industry. The solution itself is focused on improving the quality of care, driving efficiencies and increasing profitability, and has been particularly successful in reducing staff turnover by empowering caregivers with the latest mobile technology to carry out their role more effectively." Savii offers one integrated home care software platform, to help agencies, families, and patients benefit from improved communication and superior client care.
"I cannot wait to contribute to building a product with modern tools and workflows — allowing us to be a true partner in meeting the needs of private duty home care providers," said Wharton.
