Novocure and the AACR Announce Four Inaugural Research Grants to Promote and Support Innovative Research on Tumor Treating Fields
Novocure (NASDAQ: NVCR) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) announce four inaugural Tumor Treating Fields research grants. The grants represent a joint effort to promote and support innovative research on Tumor Treating Fields. Tumor Treating Fields is a cancer therapy that uses electric fields tuned to specific frequencies to disrupt cell division, inhibiting tumor growth and causing affected cancer cells to die.

A total of more than $1.5 million will be awarded to grant recipients. Grants include the AACR-Novocure Tumor Treating Fields Research Grant, the AACR-Novocure Career Development Award for Tumor Treating Fields Research, the AACR-Novocure Tumor Treating Fields Research Fellowship and the AACR-Novocure Discovery Grant. The application deadline for all grants is 1 p.m. EST on Jan. 23, 2019. All research proposed for funding must be focused on the preclinical application of Tumor Treating Fields in cancer and may be basic or translational in nature.
