SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7, 2018
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Doximity, the professional medical network, announced today the appointment of James (Jim) S. Cox as the company's chief financial officer (CFO). With over one million members, Doximity has grown to be the largest secure professional medical network in the United States, and this appointment represents a further strengthening of the company's executive leadership team.
Cox brings more than 20 years of experience and a track record of working with fast-growing companies, both private and publicly-traded. He will be responsible for leading Doximity's financial strategy and operations to support the company's growth trajectory.
"With over six years as a public company CFO at Advent and the successful acquisition of Glassdoor, Jim brings real experience to managing our financial operations," said Jeff Tangney, founder and chief executive officer of Doximity. "His expertise will help us improve our focus on serving the over 70 percent of U.S. physicians we have as members."
Cox joins Doximity from Glassdoor, one of the world's largest job and recruiting sites, where he oversaw the company's initial public offering (IPO) preparations and eventual $1.2 billion acquisition by Japanese HR giant, Recruit Holdings. Prior to Glassdoor, Cox was CFO at Lithium Technologies and Advent Software. During his six years as Advent's CFO, he helped the company double its revenue and triple its operating income. He also led Advent through its acquisition by SS&C Technologies. Cox has been recognized by the San Francisco Business Times as CFO of the Year for Small- and Mid-sized Public Companies in 2015.
"It's a privilege to join Jeff, Shari and Nate and the entire Doximity team in our mission to serve physicians so they can best serve their patients. Healthcare is nearly 20 percent of the economy in the United States and Doximity is one of the fastest growing technology companies serving the medical community. I look forward to helping continue the impressive growth the team has achieved," said Cox.
