PEKIN, Ill., Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™) announces the 2019 five finalists in the 9th annual "Imagine Me Beyond What You See" body image mannequin art competition. With submissions from around the United States and Canada, the five finalists will be showcased and the winner revealed at the annual iaedp™ Symposium, February 7-10 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert, California.
Entries were created by individuals in recovery and within therapy groups with clients who include both adolescents and adults from partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs and residential treatment centers supervised by therapists, counselors and art therapists. The mixed-medium works are judged on clarity of theme, creativity and originality, quality of composition and design and the overall impression and presentation of the artwork.
"The diverse and creative responses to this year's challenge are so inspiring. All of us at iaedp™ appreciate the artists' efforts to push the boundaries of form, structure, and identity through their visual representations," says iaedp Foundation's Imagine Me Coordinator, Blanche Williams.
