NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Health:Further announced that after hosting one of the premier health innovation gatherings since 2015, it will not produce its flagship festival in 2019. Instead, Health:Further will concentrate on partnering with market-leading organizations it has developed relationships with through the festival to advance strategic innovation at scale.

Health:Further will work with these partners to identify, implement and accelerate innovative solutions to the key drivers of transformation in healthcare, which include care moving out of the hospital and the rise of the consumer.

"We've built an amazing community and now it's time to truly activate it in order to maximize our impact on the tectonic shifts taking place in healthcare," said Health:Further CEO Marcus Whitney.

While it won't be hosting the festival in 2019, Health:Further will be co-producing top events in healthcare with national and global organizations, continuing to leverage its unique ability to physically and virtually convene industry leaders and curate thought leadership.

Health:Further started as a way for parent company Briovation's investment business, Jumpstart, to engage with the healthcare ecosystem and to better understand the future of the industry.

The 2018 festival was highly successful and capped four years of rapid growth, and Briovation's leadership determined that the company's original objectives for the event had been met and exceeded. "Over the course of four years, our reach has expanded across the globe, and we've developed great relationships with leaders in the industry." said Briovation CEO Vic Gatto. Since 2015 the organization's seed fund, Jumpstart Foundry, has invested in 62 companies. In addition, a new growth stage investment business, Jumpstart Capital, is now up and running as its debut Growth Fund was successfully closed at the end of December 2018. "The businesses, led by Vic Gatto and Dave Vreeland, respectively, are well positioned to bring great returns to our investors, in large part due to the power of Health:Further," said Whitney.

"It's become clear to us that now is the right time to move to deeper engagement. In 2019, in place of the Health:Further Festival, we will focus on a limited number of strategic partnerships with healthcare and technology organizations that are serious about transforming their operations," said Whitney. In these partnerships Health:Further will provide strategic innovation planning, innovation sourcing, and thought leadership. It will also offer guidance on innovation investing, leveraging the experience of sister company Jumpstart in managing innovation funds and portfolios.

To drive this effort, Health:Further is adding a new senior team member, Steve Tremitiere. Tremitiere will join the organization as Chief Development Officer. He has an extensive background guiding organizations with ambitious innovation initiatives, creating advisory and leadership teams and building strategic business development strategies. Most recently, Tremitiere has been an Executive Advisor to Geisinger Health System on their revolutionary population health initiative, Springboard Health.

"Both in the United States and abroad, healthcare organizations of all types are seeking better ways to transform care for their communities and develop new service offerings in the face of unprecedented challenges to the long term viability of their operations." said Tremitiere. "Innovation is critical to helping them achieve their goals, and with our venture capital experience and deep network of innovators, we can be a unique and valuable strategic partner in their efforts."

Health:Further will be exploring opportunities around the world, but is immediately focused on engagements with the organizations with which it has developed relationships through the festival. "The pace of change in the healthcare industry is truly accelerating, and we are excited to bring our expertise to the market in a more engaged way, helping the leaders of healthcare turn the headwinds of change into tailwinds," says Whitney.
