Senior industry figure announced as new MD of ramarketing
Pharmaceutical and life sciences marketing agency ramarketing has announced the appointment of an industry veteran as its new managing director, to oversee the company’s continued growth.
Emma Banks, former CEO of life sciences software experts, Datatrial, will take over the operational reins from ramarketing’s founder, Raman Sehgal, who has transferred to Boston to run the company’s first US office.
The new office in Cambridge, Massachusetts, will give ramarketing a presence in the growing pharma and biotech hub and a foothold in the US market, allowing it to locally service its US clients and assist European clients with their US growth strategies.
Founder and global president, Raman Sehgal, said: “Emma is a well-known industry figure with a wealth of senior level experience. Her experience of growing a technology company into a highly successful international operation makes her an ideal candidate for the role.
“Emma’s insight into the global life sciences sector means she fully understands the value of opening up in the US market, and how it will help to accelerate our development. Her warm and energetic leadership style and solid moral compass make her a great fit for our company culture.
“Emma will manage our strategic European growth plans, ensuring we continue to deliver world class service to our clients. Bringing her on board to run day-to-day operations enables me to focus on building our North American business and also frees me up to be more hands-on supporting clients’ businesses.”
Set up in 2009, ramarketing specialises in design, digital and PR services for a range of companies operating in the global biotech and pharmaceutical outsourcing sector, including CROs, CDMOs, CPOs, testing and technology firms. Its clients include the likes of Recipharm, TraceLink, Xellia, Symbiosis and Sterling pharma Solutions.
In 2017 ramarketing announced a six-figure investment by pharmaceutical industry expert Fiona Cruickshank OBE. Last year the company, which is headquartered in Newcastle, UK, also launched its second UK office in Manchester. 2018 has been the agency’s most successful year to date following a 40% year-on-year growth pattern. More than 60 percent of its business now comes from the export market.
Emma, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for me personally, and I am looking forward to the challenges. My role is to continue to deliver exceptional service and nurture the unique culture that makes ramarketing a world-class business.
“My experience of running a highly successful company supporting global clinical development programmes, will help me to support the ramarketing team as we make the transition into an international operation.
“This is a successful, growing business and a very exciting time for the company and its staff. I look forward to playing my part in its continued growth and success.”
