eXmoor Pharma donates to local charity for 2021

Bristol-based manufacturing consultancy, eXmoor Pharma has chosen to support local charity Bristol North West Food Bank as its 2021 Charity of the Year with a £10,000 donation.

Every year, eXmoor Pharma selects a charity to support in the Bristol and South West region, and 2021 sees the consultancy giving its largest donation to date, reflecting the growth of eXmoor as a company and the development and expansion of its lab team in Bristol.

eXmoor employees decide the charity for that year, with the Bristol North West Food Bank receiving the most votes from staff, this comes at a time when food donations are needed more than ever.

When asked about the donation, Emma Murray, Bristol North West Food Bank Manager said: “Thank you so very much for the extremely generous donation of £10,000.  We are absolutely delighted to receive such an amazing donation from eXmoor.

“We support those in crisis with emergency food and our clients include the elderly, the vulnerable, those suffering domestic abuse, people on low income etc.  We are seeing an increase in the need for food by people who have lost their jobs due to Covid-19 and of course we are seeing a rise in those struggling with their mental health due to the Pandemic.”

“eXmoor’s kind donation will be spent in various ways – we will be able to continue to buy in fresh fruit and vegetables which are so important for our clients to have.  We also need a container to store non-perishable food in so we always have plenty of food in stock for our clients and we can now hire two storage containers for two years with this money which will make a huge difference to our storage capacity and the money will also be well spent on our other operational costs.”

Angela Osborne, founder and chief executive officer at eXmoor Pharma said: “The work done by the Bristol North West Food Bank in our area is outstanding. We are proud to support them as our Charity of the Year for 2021 and hope that our donation will allow them to continue to help those that need it, during this difficult time.

“Our Charity of the Year project has been a tradition for some years now and is something we value very highly at eXmoor and plan to continue.”

Last year, eXmoor donated to the Julian Trust, a night shelter for the homeless in Bristol, as well as The Ocean Cleanup, an organisation designing and developing clean-up systems to clean-up plastic polluting our oceans and to intercept plastic on its way to the ocean via rivers.

In 2019, its chosen Charity of the Year was Macmillan Cancer Support, a leading cancer charity offering emotional, physical and financial support to people affected by cancer.
