Sustainable medicines packaging awards shortlist announced

Finalists showcase innovations in sustainable pharmaceutical packaging, with winners to be announced at Connect in Pharma 

London, UK, 25th May 2023 / Sciad Newswire / YewMaker and Connect In Pharma announce today the shortlisted finalists for this year’s Sustainable Medicines Packaging Awards. Winners will be announced at an in-person champagne ceremony at Connect In Pharma, an annual event connecting innovators in pharma and biotech to the world’s leading suppliers and manufacturers. 

The awards, launched by sustainable healthcare pioneers YewMaker, showcase and celebrate innovations in sustainable packaging design to reduce waste or bring circularity into the pharma packaging supply chain.  

Nazneen Rahman, YewMaker founder and CEO, says: “We urgently need new solutions to reduce waste and single-use materials in the pharmaceutical supply chain. These awards shine a light on the ingenuity and engineering required to make good pharmaceutical packaging more sustainable, without compromising function.” 

Ten applicants have been shortlisted, with gold, silver and bronze winners for the two categories due to be announced on 14 June 2023 in Geneva. The shortlisted applicants are:

Circularity Award (packaging services, processes, partnerships or products)

  • Pylote SAS - Sustainable Mineral Antimicrobial Technology 

  • SÜDPACK Medica - PharmaGuard 

  • SymbioTex Ltd - Seaweed-based Home Compostable Medical Devices
