GenesisCare appoints new UK Chief Medical Officer

GenesisCare, the UK’s leading independent cancer care provider has appointed Dr Sheena Khanduri as its UK Chief Medical Officer. A practising Clinical Oncologist specialising in breast cancer, Sheena was most recently Executive Medical Director and Responsible Officer at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust where she has worked since 2017 and has overseen the transformation of oncology services including the opening of a new cancer hospital and significant growth in research.

Dr Khanduri graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in both Medicine and Social Anthropology. She trained in Birmingham and Leeds, becoming a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2007.

In her role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr Khanduri will guide the clinical teams as GenesisCare continues to investment in cutting-edge technology and explore new and innovative ways to increase patient access to the latest treatment therapies and techniques. Dr Khanduri will work closely with the UK leadership team, GenesisCare’s clinical and research experts and the wider UK clinical community.

In August 2025, the launch of a state-of-the-art MR Linac at our centre in Surrey will bring the latest in precision radiotherapy technology to more patients, enhancing care for those with complex cancers. Alongside this, GenesisCare will open its 15^th and largest UK centre in Leeds in 2026, which will feature two of the world’s most advanced radiotherapy platforms, setting a new benchmark for cancer treatment across the country.
