eClinical Solutions Appoints Lauren Whitsell as Chief Operating Officer and Venu Mallarapu as Chief Transformation and AI Officer

Supporting 18 of the top 50 pharmaceutical companies in the world with its industry-leading clinical data intelligence platform, the company eyes its next phase of growth with expanded C-suite

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--eClinical Solutions LLC, a global provider of digital clinical software and services, today announced two additions to its C-suite with the hiring of Lauren Whitsell as Chief Operating Officer and appointment of Venu Mallarapu as Chief Transformation and AI Officer. The news comes following a growth investment from GI Partners, signaling strong momentum as the company deepens its product roadmap, further embedding AI and risk-based capabilities, and ensures future-ready trials to drive tomorrow’s breakthroughs.

Whitsell brings over two decades of experience across technology and healthcare with a proven track record of operational leadership, scaling companies and systems, and driving improved performance. Whitsell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in MIS & Mathematics from University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. She joins eClinical Solutions after serving as Chief Product and Operations Officer at STARLIMS where she led an organization focused on improving product development, implementation, and support of the STARLIMS solution for customers globally. Prior to STARLIMS, she led operations at Appriss Health and Appriss Insights, before being acquired by Equifax Workforce Solutions.

“As eClinical Solutions focuses on innovating the future of clinical trial automation, scaling operations and driving internal efficiencies that mirror the expectations of our customers is equally critical to maintaining our market-leading capabilities,” said Lauren Whitsell, COO of eClinical Solutions. “I’m passionate about technology, efficiency, and growth that will support the end-to-end clinical research lifecycle.”

In her role, Whitsell will focus on executive leadership for all post-sale functions for the business, including professional services, implementation, support, training, adoption, and offshore operations, while championing a culture of high-quality customer service and operational excellence across the company.

In his new role, Mallarapu will drive the company’s AI-first strategy, ensuring technology and processes optimize AI and automation to support workforce transformation and deliver exceptional customer experience. Building on his tenure as Executive Vice President of Global Operations for eClinical Solutions, Mallarapu takes on expanded strategic responsibility. Under his leadership, eClinical Solutions’ global delivery organization and partner ecosystem have scaled significantly, supporting the company's growth across 18 of the top 50 pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Together, the new appointees will support the long-term strategic pillars of the company amid rapid growth and scaling operations.

“Over the last four years, I’ve seen firsthand how eClinical Solutions has evolved elluminate® to an end-to-end clinical data intelligence platform to achieve trial outcomes,” said Venu Mallarapu, Chief Transformation and AI Officer at eClinical Solutions. “eClinical is shifting clinical data chaos into actionable decisions for biopharma leaders, especially in expanding our elluminate agents, which are fueled by data products with shared context and workflows and a foundation with grounding guardrails and policies. Internally, we are taking a similar approach to unite intentional AI strategy and innovation for operational transformation. I'm focused on building the AI and operational foundation that sets the standard for how clinical data companies run and win in the next decade.”

“When eClinical Solutions was founded in 2012, we had a vision to help solve the industry’s clinical data challenges. We leveraged our deep expertise in clinical data and biometrics services to evolve the elluminate platform, enhanced by collaborations – including ZS and Snowflake – and driven by our expanding C-suite of experts,” said Raj Indupuri, CEO and co-founder of eClinical Solutions. “Our infrastructure continues to scale, from deploying AI agents to enabling integrated risk management. We are committed to delivering value for biopharma and CRO organizations in alignment with our founding vision to help the life sciences industry reduce cycle times, improve quality, and bring breakthrough therapies to patients faster. I look forward to the support Lauren and Venu provide as we continue in our growth journey.”
