Global Self-Care Federation Appoints New Chair
24 March 2026, Geneva, Switzerland – Ed Petter, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Haleon, officially takes on the role of Chair of the Global Self-Care Federation (GSCF) as of today.
Ed succeeds Tamara Rogers, Chief Marketing Officer at Haleon.
As Chair, Ed will provide strategic leadership and oversight, driving the Federation’s mission to further strengthen self-care integration into the global health agenda and ensure its recognition as a vital building block of sustainable healthcare systems.
Tamara Rogers hands over the leadership following a period of significant advocacy, particularly regarding managing Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs); strengthening GSCF’s regulatory leadership as well as its work on quality harmonisation and growing and diversifying the network.
Tamara said: “Contributing to the work of GSCF has been a privilege. During my term, we have advanced our mission to position self-care as an essential pillar of resilient, person-centred health systems. Guided by the launch of our new strategy, the Federation strengthened its foundations, expanded its global engagement, and delivered concrete impact across policy, regulatory, and partnership priorities. I am delighted to pass the baton to Ed, whose expertise and vision will be instrumental as the Federation enters its next phase of global impact.”
Accepting the role, Ed emphasised the need for continued collaboration and strengthening the global case for self-care, ensuring it delivers real impact for people and health systems globally.

As we move toward 2030, our focus must be on accelerating the adoption of self-care practices that empower individuals, stabilise economies and are protected from geopolitical shocks. We will continue to champion evidence-based solutions and work closely with global partners to ensure that self-care is not just an option, but a primary pillar of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).”- he said.
Greg Perry, Director General at GSCF added: “As we look ahead, GSCF remains focused on delivering the ambitions of the 2025–2028 Strategy, shaping global policy, convening partners and regulators, strengthening evidence, and equipping our members to advance self-care as a cornerstone of sustainable health agendas. I very much look forward to working with Ed on this.”
Ed Petter’s appointment marks a continued commitment by GSCF to strengthening the role of self-care to achieve better health outcomes and more resilient health systems for all.
Josephine Fubara, Chief Science Officer at Opella, was unanimously chosen as the next Chair Elect of GSCF and will begin her term in March 2027.
