Broughton welcomes Jonathan Hinder MP to Oak Tree House

Contract research organisation and scientific consultancy Broughton Group has welcomed Jonathan Hinder MP to its Oak Tree House facility for discussions with CEO Chris Allen on the future of UK life sciences. The conversation covered Mutual Recognition Agreements, joined-up funding and the role of effective regulation in reduced-risk nicotine.

Director of Quality Emmet Tilley joined Allen and Hinder on a tour of the facility, where Broughton presented its 20-year journey from its first MHRA GMP inspection in 2006 to its continued investment in facilities, talent and regulatory leadership.

"It was a pleasure to welcome Jonathan to Oak Tree House and to share the work and ambitions that define Broughton's position in UK life sciences," said Chris Allen, CEO of Broughton Group. "As a business with a global reputation built over two decades, we value the opportunity to engage directly with policymakers on the issues that matter — from regulatory frameworks to the skilled jobs and innovation we are driving here in the North West.

"We look forward to continuing that conversation in 2026 and beyond," added Allen.

As a North West business with a global reputation, Broughton is an independent life sciences CRO and testing laboratory whose GMP-compliant, MHRA, FDA and UKAS-inspected facilities support clients across pharmaceutical, healthcare and consumer sectors worldwide.
