 the leading event for those interested in pneumococci and pneumococcal di
 seases\, bringing together professionals in the field to raise global awa
 reness and improve standards of diagnosis\, prevention and treatment. The
  symposium is organized by the ISPPD Association.&nbsp\;\n\nThe ISPPD Ass
 ociation's mission is to improve the knowledge and understanding of pneum
 ococcal biology\, pathogenesis and epidemiology\; the host response to pn
 eumococcal carriage and infection\; and the prevention and treatment of p
 neumococcal disease.ISPPD pursues the following objectives:- to facilitat
 e scientific exchange through a biennial international ISPPD symposium- t
