Clinical trial patient recruitment company, Innovative Trials, has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its global reach and impact in helping to bring new medicines to market through targeted clinical trial patient recruitment and retention strategies.

These awards are among the most prestigious for UK businesses, recognising and celebrating business excellence in the UK. Winners are selected for their outstanding success and are approved by Her Majesty The Queen personally.

Founded in 2010, Innovative Trials works with pharmaceutical companies and Clinical Research Organisations globally to help them reach their patient recruitment targets for trials, keep patients engaged throughout the research process and avoid delays in bringing effective new treatments to market. To date, the company has worked on nearly 200 clinical trials and played a part in six new treatments being approved for patients across the world.

Last month, Innovative Trials also announced a new initiative with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust to make it easier for cancer patients to take part in clinical trials by raising awareness and making research accessible more locally. Its aim is to help speed up research so that effective new treatments come to market faster and patients more widely can benefit.

Kate Shaw, founder and CEO of Innovative Trials, said: “We’re delighted and humbled to receive a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the field of International Trade. We work extremely hard to support our clients’ needs across the globe; we know how vital new medicines are to patients, especially as our understanding of conditions increase and treatments get more targeted, and how costly recruitment delays can be for those funding the trials.

“In the ten years that Innovative Trials has been running so far, we have helped recruit and retain around 40,000 people into clinical trials. It’s something we are incredibly proud of and why it is fantastic to now receive a royal seal of approval for our work.”

Innovative Trials will celebrate its award during a royal reception for Queen’s Awards winners in the summer, once gatherings like these are deemed safe to go ahead in light of the COVID-19 outbreak
