CRAcademy Selection Day

Clinical Research Academy (CRAcademy) has continued to find top candidates for Clinical Research Associate (CRA) posts by running a series of Selection and Assessment Days in the UK. The success of the first event led to a second in November 2005 where clients from the Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research industry joined the panel at interview.

The 23 candidates were chosen from over 70 applicants who expressed a desire to become Clinical Research Associates. The goal of the day was to identify, assess and select the most outstanding individuals for CRAcademy.

The structure of the day included a new exercise for the potential candidates; this involved testing their ability to negotiate with their peers. The assessment was based on the competencies which are inherent to a CRA. We were looking for candidates who showed good communication skills, were detail orientated, persuasive and passionate about joining the industry.

The candidates came from a variety of backgrounds including business development, scientific research, sales, nursing and other clinically-related positions. Those selected will be able to meet a range of client needs once they have completed the intense development process. Since the initial  Selection Day we have placed a number trainee graduates with client partners. If you have yet to sign up for the traineeship scheme there is still the opportunity to do so.

The second Selection Day was a resounding success and now CRAcademy plans to repeat the approach across Europe and conduct further Selection Days in the UK throughout 2006.
