High purity oxygen and nitrogen are required for industrial applications.  Atmosphere of Earth is comprised of 21% oxygen and nitrogen making up around 78%, other gases like argon comprising 1 per cent.  And, we need oxygen to have purity up to 99.7% for applications in various industries.  This level of purity is not available in the atmosphere so it has to be done industrially.  In order to meet the requirements for oxygen with high purity, we manufacture cryogenic air separation plant that can be used for producing oxygen with high purity. O2 is highly valued for its high reactivity due to which it readily forms oxides with most of the elements with the exceptions of few noble gases.  

Likewise, nitrogen is a nonmetallic element known for its inert properties, which finds extensive applications.N2 is a constituent in all living organisms including amino acids, nucleic acids (RNA & DNA) and energy transfer molecule adenosine tri-phosphate. N2 constitutes around 3% of the human body by mass, the most plentiful element after oxygen, carbon and hydrogen. Because of its inertness, it is used for prevention of oxidization and fire hazards and explosions. There are numerous other applications of the inert gas. High purity nitrogen is produced via fractional distillation involving liquefaction and separation in the cryogenic air separation plant.
