Last Updated: 27-Aug-2010

PABORD is the first exhibition and conference dedicated to Outsourcing in Research and Development for the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries. With an international line-up of renowned speakers, this
cutting-edge new event is taking place at London's ExCel conference and exhibition venue on September 28th and 29th 2004.

Almost 200 companies will be participating at PABORD, Europe's first show that focuses completely on the rapidly expanding trend towards outsourcing in the research and development of new therapeutics. PABORD is extremely well timed, considering how this new trend is having such an increasingly
profound effect on the way Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies bring new products into the market. The strong vote of support from all over
the world for this highly niche event proves, beyond any doubt, that companies concentrating upon highly specialised sectors of the industry have a real
need for their own specific event, rather than being swallowed up and lost within the many general and somewhat impersonal pharmaceutical events that
are prevalent in today's marketplace.

At the heart of this new two-day event is a completely free international conference with an impressive line-up of expert commentators and renowned scientists debating a wide range of hot topics that concern the industry today. The architect of the Conference is Dr Rob Williams who has spent nearly 20 years working in R&D in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector. Using his own personal experience of outsourcing, and being attuned to the needs of both small biotech and large pharma, Rob has constructed a conference programme that is both focussed on the specific concerns of people within the industry and broad in its appeal to the range of responsibilities visitors and delegates to the event will have.

Dr Christopher Milne, Assistant Director of The Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development will open the Pabord conference at 9.30am on 28th September presenting a fascinating paper on the evolving role of CRO's in supporting the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The Tufts CSDD is internationally recognised for its scholarly analysis and
commentaries on pharmaceutical issues.

Dr. David Cavalla, CEO, Arachnova, UK is an internationally recognised expert in outsourcing and has authored many commentaries on this topic.
Dr. Cavalla opens the second day of the conference with a paper entitled "Outsourcing of complex ultidisciplinary R&D programmes in drug development: benefits and challenges"

In total, 35 industry experts representing organisations from around the globe will gather to present insightful and sometimes controversial papers which will stimulate much debate with regard to how to develop effective
outsourcing strategies to gain a competitive advantage in the discovery and development of new drugs.

PABORD is a two-day exhibition and conference being staged at ExCeL, London's premier exhibition and conference venue, and is open on the 28th and
29th September 09.00 - 18.00 daily. PABORD is free to visitors who can register in advance online at www.pabord.com or by contacting the organisers
