Merus Reviews 6 Household Items That Will Protect Your Family From Illness
American Fork, Utah, United States, June 16 2020 Published via (Wiredrelease) — The Coronavirus pandemic has been a trying time for everyone worldwide, and it’s also shown some gaps in our knowledge and ability to function. From the average individual’s perspective, it’s easy to understand the need to socially distance – and to stay at home if possible.
But what else can you do to protect your family in the midst of a pandemic? Hand washing is obviously a great start, but the virus can also live on surfaces if you’ve been out of the house for any amount of time. When it comes time to disinfect your home, here are the products that will help you stay safe – not only from Coronavirus, but from other bacteria and viruses that may threaten your family.
6 Household Items
Bleach
Household Bleach is an overall cleaner and disinfectant and can be effective in fighting viruses when used in the right proportions. Make a bleach solution by mixing 1/3 of a cup of bleach with one gallon of water. The mixture can be placed in a spray bottle for dispensing on surfaces that require sanitizing and disinfecting. You want to first wash the surface to be cleaned with soap and hot water then rinse the area with clean water. Once cleaned, sanitize with the bleach and water solution and allow the area to air dry. Household bleach can be found in almost any grocery store, discount store or pharmacy. A word of caution, do not mix bleach with other cleaners.
Isopropyl Alcohol
For alcohol to be effective as a disinfectant and to combat viruses, you’ll want a 70% alcohol solution. Apply the alcohol directly from the bottle or pour some into a spray bottle. You don’t want to dilute alcohol. Before you spray the alcohol, clean the area with soap and water and let the surface dry. Next, spray with the alcohol and allow it to remain on the surface for about 30 seconds. Alcohol is another item that is easily found in pharmacies, discount stores and grocery stores.
Vinegar
Made fresh, white vinegar (5% acetic acid) (1 cup) in combination with club soda (1 cup) and tea tree oil (two drops) is used to sanitize and disinfect surfaces. Mix the combination in a spray bottle. Spray and wipe down surfaces affected by germs. Vinegar is a plentiful product, particularly in longer lasting gallon jugs, and has killed both flu and cold germs. If using vinegar with just water, use hot water. Find club soda in the beverage or mixed drink aisle of your grocery or pharmacy and tea tree oil in health food, other stores or online. Make the mixture fresh to kill as many germs as possible. If using the tea tree oil mixture, do not consume it.
Water Purifiers
Purified and filtered water is important, particularly for treating illnesses. Water is the best form of hydration for someone who is sick and unable to drink much else other than water. Remaining hydrated before, during and after an illness is important as purified water helps your body function properly. Water intake is essential whether it comes through an under-sink water filtration system, a water filtering pitcher, distiller or a device such as the Merus Ring, which is a specially treated aluminum ring that when situated around a water pipe can transmit a back-and-forth motion, or oscillation, that aids in removing various mineral deposits and other substances from pipes that bring water into a home. Accessing clean water for those who are sick is critical and having to wait for water to filter through other means can take time.
Hydrogen Peroxide
Among its many uses, hydrogen peroxide makes a good household cleaner and disinfectant. It kills bacteria, viruses and other germs. In its 3% form, hydrogen peroxide can destroy the makeup of germ cells. It also disables viruses, fungi, bacteria and other microorganisms. To make a cleaning or disinfectant mixture, combine a smaller concentration of the 3% variety. Mix 2-1/2 parts water to 0.5 parts of the hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle, but before going over a surface, use soap and water first and wipe the area clean. Then spray the hydrogen peroxide mixture on the surface and wipe it on with a sponge or paper towel. Wait at least a minute and allow the surface to dry. Waiting will allow any organisms to die off. You can find hydrogen peroxide in most discount stores, pharmacies and grocery stores.
Other Products
Different cleaners and disinfectants like Windex Multi-Surface products are able to effectively kill germs, viruses and bacteria. Other useful household items that destroy viruses and bacteria include several Clorox products, Lysol Disinfecting spray, Purell Professional Disinfectant Wipes and Sani-Prime Germicidal Spray. These products are available in grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores and discount stores. More information on products recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can be found here.
Protecting your family from illness is important and the 6 household items presented here provide necessary coverage for most any illness whether viral or bacterial. Using any of them in your home environment should keep your family safe.
About us
At the beginning of Merus came the idea to reduce negative side effects of fluids in industry and private homes. We were looking for a method that doesn’t cause negative side effects, a method without chemistry and waste of energy. We felt that treating “evil with evil” (the way things have been done before Merus and still continue to be done) can’t be the right way to use water.
Our approach is based on the finding that technical properties of substances can be changed by vibrations. After some tests we found out that in this way, not only symptoms can be treated. Moreover it is possible to prevent the emergence of water problems.
Thus, in 1996 the Merus GmbH was founded in Germany.
