Panthera further extends its network of clinical trial sites with the opening of a clinical trial site in North London in collaboration with Medicus Health Partners
- Panthera’s network of UK clinical trials sites grows to seven with several others in development.
Since launching its first site in Preston in North West England in 2019, Panthera continues to expand its network of UK clinical trial sites with a new site in North London in collaboration with a GP Super partnership Medicus Health Partners. The new site, which is now open for business, is located in the London Borough of Enfield.
In the first quarter of 2021, the site will expand into a newly built customised healthcare centre commissioned by Medicus. Panthera’s new facility will feature eight consulting rooms, lab, and, through the wider Medicus partnership have access to local diagnostics including ultrasound, DEXA, Echocardiogram, MRI, X-Ray, CT and PET/CT.
The partnership with Medicus provides Panthera with access to nearly 100,000 patients covered by their network of 15 Practices across Enfield, in addition to being able to attract patients from across North London.
As well as recruiting and running trials for those conditions which are treated in general practice including cardiovascular disease, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, allergies and migraine, the North London site will also run clinical trials for CNS conditions including pre-symptomatic and prodromal Alzheimer’s, mild cognitive impairment, depression and neurological conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s supported by a growing number of specialist PIs in London.
Panthera also offers specialist clinical trial sites for Oncology. The specialist oncology sites are run in collaboration with Rutherford Health’s four state of the art cancer treatment centres in Newport, Reading, Bedlington and Liverpool who draw their patients from all over the UK through more than 180 referring oncologists.
Stuart Young CEO of Panthera commented “Despite the disruption of Covid we are ahead of our plans for opening new clinical trial sites with several more in the pipeline. We are also in discussions with partners across the EU. We can now offer our clients not only top tier specialist sites but also access to millions of patients.”
All of Panthera’s sites are run by GCP trained clinical trial staff overseen by one of the most experienced management teams in the industry.
