International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis’ World Thrombosis Day Campaign and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to Co-Host Global Webinar on Covid-19 and Blood Clotting

Webinar brings together global experts to discuss the latest developments in hospital-associated thrombosis (HAT) and COVID-19

WHAT:            The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis' (ISTH) World Thrombosis Day (WTD) campaign joins with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to offer a webinar on the newest developments in the fight against blood clots and the correlations between Covid-19 and thrombosis. This year, given the extraordinary circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic, the webinar will explore the clotting risks associated with COVID-19.

Recognized on 13 October, WTD focuses attention on the often overlooked and misunderstood condition of thrombosis. With thousands of educational events in countries around the world, WTD and its partners place a global spotlight on blood clots as an urgent and growing health problem.

The WTD 2020 webinar, Hospital-Associated Thrombosis: The Connection Between Coagulopathy and COVID-19, features the following international experts:

·         Prof. Beverley Hunt, M.D., OBE;

·         Lana Castellucci, MD, FRCPC, MSC;
